In a house full of hustle bustle , a voice rang into ears ...
"MAHIIIIIIIIIII WAKEEE UPPPP ... Aaj pehla din hai tera college ka or aaj hi late hona hai tujhe " Vandana Aggarwal , Myra's mother yelled from kitchen .
( Today is your first day and you have to be late on today only )
In a room , a beautiful girl was drooling over her fictional men in lalala land in her sleep .
Suddenly her mother's voice reaches her ears and her sleep disturbed .
" Hayee .. kya dikkat hai sabko mujhse .. koi sone hi nhi detaa " she mumbled in her sleep while hugging her pillow more tightly .
Her mother reaches in the room and yells at her " maahiii wakeup. Otherwise you will be late for your first day of college and people will make fun of you ."
Hearing this , girl's eyes shot open and she sat on the bed .
" Ohhh yayyyy today is my first dayy of college !!!!! " She exclaimed happily .
Her mother flickers on her head and says while squinting her eyes " Oo drama queen , ab uth jaa or 10 minute ke andar andar niche aaja varna breakfast nhi dungi "
Saying this she turn on her heel and walked out of the room .
" Ohh myyy ... Uthjaaa myraa jaldii varna aaj to mummy sach mein khana nhi dengi " girl said while hurrying up from her bed .
She went to the bathroom and after sometime she got up ready in a full sleeves black top with square neckline and paired it with greyish pants and left her hair open .

She hurriedly reached downstairs and asked her mom " Mummy , papa chodke aayenge mujhe college ya mai khud chali jau ?"
( Mom , will father drop me college or i myself go ? )
Her mother replied ," Ha , Kal tere papa khere the vahi chodke aayenge aaj "
" Acha thik hai maa .. ab laao jaldi se breakfast dedo . Mai late ho jaungi varna .. " she said
Her mother gave her breakfast and she started eating .
Meanwhile , Naveen Aggarwal, myra's father reached downstairs.
He narrowed her eyes and said to myra " Maahi , you are again late just like you used to in school "
Myra quickly swallowed her food and replied " See mummy , aapne itna late bnaya breakfast or papa mujhe daat rahe hai "
( See mother , you make breakfast late and father is scolding me )
Her mother looked at her with wide eyes and twisted her ears ," Acha beta , mene late dia tujhe breakfast"
Myra showed her all teeth to her and replied "or ni to kya "
Her father and mother smiled at her antics . Her father said " come let's go . I 'll drop you at college today"
"Okay " she replied and went with her dad ..
✨ At college ✨
The campus gates were abuzz with students-some chatting animatedly with friends, others, like her, standing awkwardly with a mix of curiosity and apprehension. She couldn't help but marvel at the grand architecture and well-maintained lawns. Volunteers in matching t-shirts stood near signs that read Orientation Here, offering directions with smiles.
Summoning her courage , Myra went towards the auditorium.
The stage was adorned with banners that read Welcome Freshers: Orientation Program. Rows of neatly arranged chairs quickly filled as new students settled in, some chatting quietly while others stared around nervously. She chose a seat toward the middle, hoping to blend in.

As i was sitting , a girl came and sat next to me.
" Hi , myself shreya . And you ? " She said while forwarding her hand .
" Hi , myself myra " i shook her hand.
Then we both started talking and we connected so well i swear .
I never talks so easily with strangers. I just feel so shy ....
I am ambivert but with shreya I don't know why but i connect so easily . Our conversations flowed fluently.
After sometime more girls came and sat around us . We all started introducing ourselves.
Then , some seniors came and told us that there is some time in starting orientation event .
Soon , seniors starting coming and introducing themselves and asking about us .
Me and shreya were talking and my eyes keep drifting towards auditorium scanning the surrounding around me .
✨✨
A guy entered the auditorium casually, a little later than most, the door creaking slightly as it opened.
After some moments , Myra's eyes were drawn to him , as though some invisible thread pulled her gaze in his direction. His tall frame and confident stride made it impossible not to notice him. He wore a crisp white shirt paired with dark jeans, the simplicity of his attire highlighting his well-defined features. His dusky complexion, sharp jawline, and slightly ruffled hair looked effortlessly perfect, as though he had walked out of a scene from one of those romantic college dramas.
But it wasn't just his looks that caught her attention. It was the way he carried himself-a mixture of ease and quiet confidence, like someone who didn't need to try to impress anyone but ended up doing so anyway.
the moment he walked into the auditorium, she noticed him. It wasn't intentional-he didn't seem to want attention. But there was something about the way he hovered near the door, scanning the room awkwardly before settling into a corner, that made him stand out. She went back to chatting with her friends, laughing at their jokes, but every so often, her gaze flickered toward him. He wasn't exactly looking at her, but his restless energy and furtive glances made her curious.
She couldn't put her finger on it, but there was something about his demeanor-shy, unsure, yet quietly focused-that piqued her interest. She shrugged it off, convinced it was nothing, and continued enjoying the conversation around her.
A little while later, two girls approached their group-both smiling, both looking overly confident for such a casual interaction. Ankita and Priya, they introduced themselves . She assumed they had come to talk to someone they knew, so she gave them a polite smile before turning back to her friends. But then, they started speaking to the girl sitting next to her ---- SHREYA.
She listened absently at first, sipping her water, but something about their questions made her pause. They weren't here to catch up; they were clearly asking something specific. Questions about her group, casual but pointed. She exchanged a quick glance with her friends, silently asking, What's this about?
And then it happened.
Priya turned and waved to someone across the room. Her heart skipped for a second when she followed the motion and saw him-the boy from the corner-walking hesitantly toward them. She blinked, her curiosity turning sharper. What's going on?
As he approached, she studied him quietly. He looked... nervous. His hands were shoved deep into his pockets, his shoulders stiff as though he was trying to blend into the walls. His eyes flickered around the group, avoiding hers entirely. That was the first thing she noticed-he wouldn't look at her.
When Priya introduced him, her interest deepened. They had brought him over, but he barely said anything. He fumbled through an awkward greeting to Shreya , keeping his voice low and his gaze downcast.
He slowly asked everyone's name except her.

After sometime, those 2 girls who were senior , started introducing him to Shreya .
He asked everyone's name EXCEPT MINE . He was talking to everyone EXCEPT ME .
HE IS SO RUDE.........
MAINE AB ISSE BAAT NAHI KARNI ...
MAI TO ITNI BURI BHI NHI LAG RAHI HU JO YE EK BAAR BHI NHI DEKH RAHA HAI
He is just a senior. Maybe he is interested in shreya.
I shrugged these thoughts and again immersed myself in surroundings
✨✨
She sat quietly, watching him squirm, and couldn't help but feel slightly amused. He wasn't trying to catch anyone's attention-in fact, it seemed like he wanted to be anywhere but here.
The realization dawned on her in fragments, each one more interesting than the last. He wasn't here for Shreya. He wasn't here for anyone they were talking to. And yet, there he was, standing awkwardly, his ears burning red, and looking everywhere but at her. The clues clicked into place, and a small smile tugged at her lips. Could it be... me?
She let her eyes linger on him a little longer, trying to read his expressions. If he was here for her, he wasn't doing a very good job of hiding his nerves. There was something sweet about the way he kept fidgeting, avoiding eye contact, yet clearly wanting to stay. She wasn't sure why, but it made her heart soften a little.
Then, Ankita's words confirmed her suspicions, albeit in the most awkward way possible. "You good? Is this the girl you meant?"
She bit the inside of her cheek to keep herself from smiling too much. Meant? Meant for what? Her friends exchanged confused glances, and she knew this interaction was going nowhere productive. But rather than feeling embarrassed for him, she found herself impressed by the effort he'd made-clumsy as it was. Most guys would never even try.
When he finally muttered a quick excuse and started to leave, she couldn't take her eyes off him. He still refused to look at her, but she could tell by the tension in his shoulders, the slightly hurried steps, that he was mortified. Her smile softened, a flicker of warmth spreading through her chest.
There was no denying it now-he had been watching her earlier. And as far as she could tell, it wasn't creepy or arrogant. If anything, he seemed like he had no idea how to handle himself around her. It made him... endearing. Genuine.
She didn't say a word, letting him retreat with his dignity intact, but in the quiet moments that followed, her thoughts lingered on him. Who was he? Why had he gone through all this trouble just to stand there so nervously? She wasn't sure what it meant, but one thing was certain-she couldn't stop thinking about the boy who couldn't even look at her.
After sometime , the program started and all of the seniors including him performed.
Some presented shayari , some motivational quotes , some performed dances , some songs .
He performed a shayari .
Principal delivered a motivational speech . Some advocates and judges many legal professionals came ..
After their speeches , a plantation ceremony happened and later our seniors arranged some fun activities for us .
By the time the day ended, Myra was drained but also filled with a sense of accomplishment. She had navigated through her first day, met new people, and stepped a little outside her comfort zone. As she walked out of the gates, the campus no longer felt so daunting. The flutter of leaves in the courtyard and the chatter of students felt welcoming rather than overwhelming. For the first time, she felt like this might soon become her second home.
